October 4, 2022 9:00 AM

Our workshop is designed for developers and independent power producers. It introduces PPAs and shows their functionality as a part of a portfolio of opportunities to decarbonize corporate business cases such as onsite production (e.g. roof-top solar) or utility products (e.g. physical electricity incl. guarantees of origin). You will learn how to structure PPAs with corporate energy buyers. Furthermore, you will learn which obstacles energy buyers need to overcome to mitigate risks arising from long-term PPAs. We will work on real cases, from our transactions in Central Europe, Nordics, and East Europe.

Workshop date: Tuesday, October 4, 2022 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM (CET)

Early Bird Booking: €800 + VAT per participant until Aug 11, 2022, 0:00 AM (CET); Standard Booking: €1.200 + VAT per participant

The energy market changed for developers and IPPs since Oct. 2021, when the electricity prices increased tremendously, threatening the liquidity of end consumers. These corporates are also increasingly under pressure to be aligned with sustainability regulations. At the same time, utilities can no longer meet their delivery obligations to their end customers on time or at all. This then leads to contract penalties that burden the liquidity of those companies. E.g., the established market participants "Uniper" and "LEAG" came under enormous pressure.

In this difficult market environment, Power Purchase Agreements offer a unique alternative to hedge its own business case while also contributing to the net zero targets.

  • functionality as a part of a portfolio of opportunities to decarbonize corporate business cases
  • which risks might evolve when integrating renewable energies and how to mitigate these risks
  • procurement strategies and a typical “route to market” for realizing net zero.

“I participated in the “PPA Advanced – Managing Price & Volume Risks” webinar. I had some prior knowledge of PPAs in general, but as a result of this webinar, I gained some further in-depth insight and examined specific aspects of this topic moreclosely. The whole topic was comprehensively dealt with and Steffen’s explanations were particularly relevant for my job. Furthermore, Dr. Steffen Hundt has extensive knowledge and a holistic view of energy markets.”
