The video about E-world Community Session on green PPAs and the impact of the EU Taxonomy Regulation on corporates is online.
The E-World Community session was dedicated to Green PPAs and the impact of the EU Taxonomy on the business model. Experts from the renewable energy sector expect that the new directive will change the financing conditions for power generation and increase the demand for green power, which might further push Power Purchase Agreements.
In his presentation, Steffen gave an overview of the main industries affected by the EU Taxonomy, and introduced ways to meet the Taxonomy's requirements. Among the solutions proposed, Power Purchase Agreements are one of the most sustainable and credible instruments to reduce a company's carbon footprint without directly investing into green energy assets.
Besides Steffen, prestigious companies such as the world's largest commercial law firm, Dentons, the insurance company, Munich RE as well as the leading supplier of steel, Georgsmarienhütte GmbH, participated in the session to present their expertise and their distinctive views on the topic.
A general consensus prevailed among the participants that there is a lot of uncertainty as regards the Taxonomy regulation.
"Great panel participants and lively discussions. There should be more events like this one", concluded Think RE co-founder Dr. Steffen Hundt after the session.
